Step 2 — Tapping the blood
First of all a blood test was required, to avoid innocent people getting exotic diseases by reading a book. Mr. Linssen went mentally through a tough period, as he looked upon this as a 'proof of an orderly sex life'. As soon as the result of the blood test gave us official guarantees, it became time for the next step: tap his blood.

Printing the complete edition in blood requires more than just some drips of blood. But as natural as it feels to own your blood, as difficult it is to take more than a couple of drips out of your own body (in a responsible way). After weeks of phoning we finally found a very friendly doctor who was willing to give the skilful helping hand.

According to Mr. Linssen he 'didn't feel a thing'. Right.

Jars of blood, fresh from the body, still warm.

It was a special feeling for Ruud Linssen to donate the ink for his debut.

The next step looks impracticable: turning this blood (water) into offset ink (oil). That will be a hard nut.
