Letters can be displayed in pixels. These pixels consist of subpixels: red, green and blue. Together, these subpixels determine the colour of a letter. Letters can also determine their own subpixels, giving full control over the width and position of each subpixel. The colour of a text can therefore also be determined by setting these parameters for each of the three subpixel colours red, green and blue.
